Overview

The Girls from West 4-B
In the early 1980's, secluded in the Smokey Mountains of East Tennessee, Smoke Rise School for Women in Distress takes in young ladies of all walks of life. The girls from West 4-B are four seniors who are placed in the west wing, fourth floor, quad B.
Cindy and her mother can identify a murderer. When her mother is shot and killed, Cindy is sent to Smoke Rise to hide for her protection.
Mikki's drug addicted mother sold her sexual favors in return for drug money when she was 13 years old. Determined to never allow that to happen again, Mikki ran away from home. After being passed from one foster home to another, Mikki is sent to Smoke Rise as a last resort.
Emma is the product of an interracial marriage. After a car accident takes the life of both parents, Emma is sent to live with grandparents and an aunt she has never met before. Her grandfather regrets the time he lost with his daughter and is determined to make things right with his granddaughter, but his wife and other daughter are embarrassed by the fact that Emma's father was black. When the grandfather suffers a stroke, the grandmother and aunt ship Emma off to Smoke Rise.
Megan's Father is a TV evangelist, whose agent is determined to protect his sterling reputation at all cost. When the agent learns Megan is pregnant, she is sent to Smoke Rise where the baby is to be given up for adoption and Megan's indiscretions can be kept from the public eye. Megan, however, is determined to keep her baby at any cost.
Brought together by fate, their bond of friendship is strengthened when Cindy's location is discovered by the man seeking to kill her. Will Smoke Rise remain a safe place of refuge?
