About the Author

C.R. Kimball III was born in Richfield, Utah, the son of Mary Carol Kimball and C. Rodney Kimball Jr., and grew up in Tempe, Arizona. His family on both sides has deep roots going back to the United Kingdom, primarily England and Scotland. As a young child and throughout his adolescence, he was inspired by his hard-working progenitors who helped shape generations of growth in the Western United States. His mother was dedicated to raising her eight children, and his father was a Teacher and a Professional Counselor. He was particularly impressed by his Grandfather Karl W. Burk, a professor of Industrial Arts at Arizona State University, and who had a mind for poetry and could recite hours of classics from memory. Throughout his life Karl personified the values articulated in the poem “The Builders” (Henry Wadsworth Longfellow). Mr. Kimball was also influenced by his own experiences as a missionary in Japan, his service in the National Guard, and eventually his own family of four children who would become his most cherished accomplishment.
