About the Author

Nicholas C. Demetry, M.D., is a holistic psychiatrist. He received his medical degree from Emory University School of Medicine. After completing his medical training, he continued his studies at the University of Hawaii, specializing in general psychiatry and transcultural studies. He is a graduate of Delphi University and previously taught Ro-hun Therapy and Transpersonal Psychology there. He studied the Enneagram with Helen Palmer. Dr. Demetry has been an avid student of many wisdom traditions. He visited with the Christian mystic Dr. Stylianos Atteshlis (better known as Daskalos) numerous times between 1991-1994, attending lectures and receiving personal instruction in spiritual healing, meditation, Esoteric Christianity, and Theosis. Dr. Demetry is Director of the Etherikos International School of Energy Healing and Spiritual Development headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia. The school has offered programs and classes in the United States and more than a dozen other countries. He is Director of the Institute for Spiritual Health, a non-profit organization that promotes peace through spiritual health and education, and is also a Founding Diplomate of the American Board of Holistic Medicine. Dr. Demetry is currently in private practice in Atlanta.
