About the Author

Professor Mike Benton is Professor of Vertebrate Palaeontology at the University of Bristol. He is an expert on the evolution of dinosaurs, and is currently investigating mass extinctions, for which he is conducting fieldwork in Russia. He has written many acclaimed books on dinosaurs and early life on Earth, for both children and adults.
