Being third-generation military, after a grandfather and uncle who served in the Korean War and Vietnam War, respectively, Alexander is proud of his service in the U.S. Army and grateful for his experience.

After his honorable discharge from the U.S. Army, his third year served in South Korea, he embarked on the long and arduous journey of a writer. Having made a name for himself during his tenure serving his country, he vowed to himself and his fellow soldiers that he would answer his true calling.

This has to be the most unique love and mystery book I have ever had the pleasure of reading. This story weaves several love stories together within it using a single love letter that is part of a murder investigation. I love how the passing of the letter brings forth a new tragic love story for each character and how there is also a mystery linked to it.

You can imagine all these people in smoky bar rooms and lounges that are missing from modern society with quite that same film noire feel.

I love the writing in this book! This is a book for the true romantic. The author writes with a poetic hand. I thought it was atmospheric and haunting. Oddly I felt as if I were the ghost though. I was the one haunting the characters. I was transported to 1930's Puerto Rico and it was I drifting through scene after scene bearing witness to love found, love lost, love searched for, love longed for.

This is one is for the romantics, although there is a mysterious and sinister twist to it all. The words flow right off the page and I found myself highlighting lengthy portions to revisit later.

This was my first experience with Mr. Alexander's work, so I was not familiar with his writing style. When I stated the words flow, I truly mean that.

The book could be viewed as a commentary on love. A thousand emotions and thoughts opened up. This novel was thought-provoking for me. I enjoyed it!
