Plenty of people ask: just how intelligent can you be if you LIKE getting into a bloody, brutal fight, literally pummeling the other guy and taking a few nasty shots yourself? Well, everyone knows athletes don't get paid to think but Urijah has an interesting collection of stories to tell. His positive attitude toward life is inspiring because, despite his phenomenal fitness and training, he's suffered some real troubles, too: his parents' divorce, a brother whom his family rescued from a cult that did permanent psychological damage, his sister's serious injury in a car crash, a long-term relationship that never reached the marriage stage, and getting humiliated in his hometown by Jose Aldo's barrage of kicks, as examples. But I cite his battle with Mike Brown, never quitting despite two broken hands, that should encourage anyone and everyone to take away the most important lesson of all: never give up. Always do your best, and be proud of your effort. Final note: Urijah doesn't talk about himself that much in this book. He relates the stories of many people he's encountered and that's vital information, too: people like Joseph Benavidez and Red (the old guy who'd spent decades being a terror to who knows how many people). They're reminders that you must pursue your passion in life and that it's never too late to change yourself if you really want to.

Great Read totally positive, Urijah comes real with it. Inspirational not just for fighters, or fans. This guy really seems to have a selfless attitude in so many things that he does for other people, while still remaining humble. This is a cool book for just about anybody. I was not surprised about the up beat style of the book. What i was surprised about was how much i took away from reading ii. It's like this guy did not just write the book to make money, or tell you all about how cool, tough, or great he is. It is clear he wants the reader to come away with something for themselves. Like no other book i remember reading the theme seems to be one of here is my story and all i have learned, all that i have done Can you benefit from this. In this readers opinion i have not met many people in my 40+ years on this planet who would not. Way to go Urijah thanks. A+

Laws of the Ring is by far the best book I have ever read, and yes I do read a lot. I Bought this book soley because I am a big fan of Urijah, but it is so much greater than just a fan read. Faber gives an insight on more of his life than many people would, and it makes for a great motivational book. If you're an MMA fan you'll absolutely love this. If you're not an MMA fan, well you'll STILL absolutely love this book! He puts things into such a great perspective and has several different stories (Not only MMA stories) to be great examples. I finished this book in 2 days (would have been one if I hadn't been so busy). I just could not put the book down, and you won't be able to either!! I have already recommended my whole family read it but I also recommend everyone else to read it as well!
