About the Author

Dave Dittman recently retired after a 43-year career in law enforcement. The last 7 years of his career was spent at an elementary as a school resource officer where he enjoyed great relationships with the children, their parents, and the staff of his assigned school.
Officer Dittman witnessed wonderful acts of kindness, but also witnessed tragedy beyond belief, including the mass shooting at a nearby high school.
His main focus is the education of children by instilling a passion for reading. An example is the fact that he is a volunteer reading in his elementary school, which is part of the 6th largest district in the United States
He is both a father and grandfather.
