Overview

Join Bonnie on a heartwarming journey of courage, friendship, and discovery in "The Monster in My Closet." In this delightful and child-friendly tale, Bonnie finds herself facing a common childhood fear - the monster in her closet. But armed with the mantra "I am brave," Bonnie decides to confront her fear head-on.

As Bonnie bravely opens the door to her closet, she discovers that things are not always as they seem. What she finds inside is not a scary monster, but rather a friendly creature who was just as afraid as she was. Together, Bonnie and her newfound friend embark on a thrilling adventure that takes them to magical places they never imagined.

Through their journey, Bonnie learns that bravery isn't about never feeling afraid, but about facing those fears and moving forward despite them. Along the way, she discovers the true meaning of friendship and the joy that comes from embracing the unknown.

About the Author

Jeanette Cole is a former preschool teacher with a BA in Human Development and a certificate in Early Childhood Education. She lives in Vancouver, WA with her husband, near her three young grandchildren.

Jeanette has always loved reading, and as a child was entranced by the imaginary worlds found in books.
Jeanette spent countless hours making up stories and adventures with her grandchildren, often while playing in their dollhouse. This inspired her to share the fun and excitement of “dollhouse adventures” with other children by writing and photographing these stories and making them into picture books.

Jeanette sincerely believes that imaginary play and stories can help children process difficult emotions, connect experiences, and develop abstract thinking. Her hope is that caregivers will help children explore their experiences through their own make-believe play.
