From Adriane Leigh comes a passionately evocative story about wanting what's forbidden and giving in to desire so sharp and sweet it threatens to consume...

Georgia Montgomery lives in an ever-present state of denial.
It's the only coping mechanism she's found to overcome the horror that colors her past.

Until one pleasure-seeking playboy turns her world on its axis.
Georgia tries to ignore the tornado of emotion that sweeps through her system whenever Tristan is near, but just like an addiction, one look, one taste, one touch is never enough.

And then there's Kyle, the doting boyfriend she's left at home for the summer, the one she gave her heart to when she was twelve, the one that holds her fragile love in his strong and steady hands.
What was once comfortable turns unbearable, and soon Georgia finds herself fantasizing about the forbidden.

The chemistry between Tristan and Georgia is scorching and it isn't long before the slow burn ignites into a full-blown wildfire that threatens to consume anything in its path.

Denial is comfortable.
Love is anything but.

For mature audiences.

Georgia and Kyle have been together forever. Since they were twelve years old, to be exact, and he was the only person able to break her away from her pain. But now their relationship feels off. Needing something, though she hasn't a clue as to what really, Georgia buys a beach house in North Carolina, where she is going to spend her summer. Not to be away from Kyle, she wishes he would join her, but works keeps him away and in D.C. As usual. She convinces her best friends Drew and Silas to join her though and she is looking forward to quality time with her besties and redecorating her dream home. However, Drew brings some unanticipated guests along with her in the form of her boyfriend and Gavin and his best friend Tristan. Tristan with his slightly too long golden hair, piercing green eyes and panty melting smirk. He is the definition of manwhore, but that doesn't stop the attraction. But Georgia needs to stop thinking about him. She needs to stop lusting after him every time he walks into the room. And she really needs to stop kissing him. Her life and future are with Kyle. Aren't they? Now, I'm not new to Adriane Leigh's work. I read and very much enjoyed both Wild and Ridge. But this book? This book blew. me. away. Yes it is very sexy but it was also extremely emotional. I'll worn you now that if you have issues reading books that contain cheating, this might not be for you. Although I would strongly urge you to give it a shot anyway. Georgia is pretty broken inside and has always counted on Kyle for everything. But without realizing it, something in their relationship has shifted. Or maybe something in her is finally waking up. I have to say, as the book went on and the more I saw how Kyle treated Georgia, I liked him less and less. In fact, by the end I was pretty darn close to hating him. So that probably made the cheating a lot easier for me to swallow. I wanted Georgia to be truly happy and I just didn't see that happening with him when it is clear he will always put himself first, his job second and then she gets whatever is left over. Which isn't all that much. Eff that. Then there is Tristan. He's just....well, he's just Tristan. So sexy and delectable and he doesn't give a damn about Kyle. He wants Georgia for himself and he will spend the summer showing her that. He certainly isn't perfect either (manwhore), but his feelings for her are very clear and I so badly wanted them to find their happily ever after together. Adriane kept me waiting till the very last sentence to see if that could happen and I shed a lot of tears along the way. This does not end on a cliffy, however it is clear that Georgia and Tristan's journey is far from over. I am looking forward to reading the next book, Light in Morning, albeit slightly nervous, to see what is in store next for this couple. Nothing has been easy for them so far and I don't expect it to get any easier. Bottom line - I LOVED THIS BOOK.

I am going to be blunt. I was a little leery reading this book. Books have a tendency to have a very similar storyline to many I have read before. When I looked at the synopsis and the cover it made me think it was. But somewhere between the first word and the last, I could not but help myself from getting attached to the characters. I completely understood why Georgia was conflicted. I think I was feeling the same emotions that were described in the book. That is when you know you are reading a good book. I got sucked in and when the book ended, I went on Amazon to buy the next book. I want more of Tristan, of Georgia and Kyle. This seems to be a story you know gets even better with the follow up book. I rate the book a 4.3. And I will continue with light in Mourning. I will let you know what I think. :-)

4.5 stars!!!! This past week I won an advance copy of The Mourning After and funny as it was I just finished my last book and was trying to play roulette with my TBR list to determine my next book. I was seriously blown away. There have been many books where the girl makes the relationship a mess and the female character makes me want to strangle her. Here I was torn.  This beautiful story follows Georgia who as a young girl faced a tragedy so horrible she still hasn't gotten over it. She is lost and broken but doesn't realize it until she buys a beach house states away from her home and “love of her life” Kyle. She plans to spend the summer in her new house and rent it out later. However she doesn't’ tell Kyle about the new house.  Georgia is torn between staying with the man she can’t live without and the guy who pulls her out of her safe haven she has with Kyle. Tristan is a friend of Georgia’s friend’s boyfriend. Drew, Georgia’s friend, and her boyfriend Gavin bring Tristan for the summer to get away from some lady problems he has going on. What no one expects is for Tristan and Georgia to instantly connect and fall for each other.  This story isn't your typical love triangle. Loyalty or love, safety or feeling alive, facing the past or losing yourself in the past, the Mourning After is a very beautiful story and I cannot wait for the sequel.

Great Hawt Summer Read!! ARC for honest review.  4.5 stars Georgia is a traumatized heroine who believes loyalty is above all else until....she is able to work through the mourning after, this is her story. The Mourning After unfolds into a beautiful story about finding and forgiving yourself enough to be worthy of love.  Georgia is lost & broken and doesn't realize it until she spends a Summer at the beautiful Carolina coast away from her comfortable life. Once she is away she learns she has not worked through the trauma she endured years ago and whether she likes it or not she is challenged to relive the horrible events that occurred that one fateful night years ago.  Along the way she is often challenged by her witty ,true, patient, and entertaining friends Drew and Silas.  As she slowly realizes there is much more to life than hiding away she becomes more and more aware of her surroundings and those that surround her.  Enters whore extraordinaire!  Introduced by a friend of a friend Tristan is nothing Georgia has ever crossed paths with.  He is hawtttt, delicious, and tempting especially since she has been loyal to her one and only love Kyle since the age of 12. Kyle was there for Georgia when no one else could be and he is all she knows.  But is there more there? Is he everything she needs and wants? Is Kyle the one true love?  Should Georgia sacrifice herself out of loyalty or debt?  Can she even make a choice without finding herself first? This story follows Georgia through a journey of self awareness, forgiveness, and torture...oh so much torture.  Some hot sweaty salty heated torture but torture none the less.  Can she trust in the unknown or only in whats been there?  At times I was frustrated, I wanted Georgia to have a voice...OUT LOUD not just in her head.  She relied on her friends so much why wouldn't she listen to them about the most important issues?  I get she had to find her answers on her own but I wanted to slap her at times wake her up to what was in front of her.  OH and I was so sucked in to the Kyle thing until the heard me TWIST.  I wanted to punch him in the throat and throw my Kindle.  REALLY?  Should this ever had been a question??? Georgia is very likeable even at the most frustrating of times.  The reader will find it easy to have empathy for her and root for her.  I love that somewhere in her soul she knew what she had to do from the very beginning even before the Summer started.  This alone is testament to how strong she unknowingly is.  Why did she push the truth away for so long?  I can't wait to see where she goes and how she grows, something tells me it will be a hell of a ride.   Will she work through the grief and trauma so she can forgive herself enough to be deserving of her future?  You'll have to see!
