The Nearly Unbelievable Rescue Mission to Mars
A children's book that won't be lost on adults. When an S.O.S. signal is intercepted from space, Science Officer Doris, a well-respected Harvard-educated elephant, and Commander Vito, a rat, are sent into the deep reaches of the solar system to find its source. Instead they discover that rats aren't very good with satellite guidance systems and the Martian Prison Systems are not long on creature comforts. So the pachyderm and rodent must think their way out of one galactic sticky situation after another while never losing sight of their ultimate goal: to track down the origin of the wayward S.O.S. signal from somewhere on Mars (and sneak in a few odd bits about science in the process).

About the Author

ABOUT THE AUTHORS

Dave Peterson has had his fingers in many a pie. From ideating print, web and mobile design to concepting, producing and directing TV commercials to raising two kids. Now throw in 2D and 3D animations, illustrations, game asset creation, and the fact that he works out of a dumpster located in an alley behind historic and trendy Pioneer Square makes him a true renaissance man

Vandy Kindred, on the other hand, knows nothing about 2D and 3D animations or game asset creation but does have about thirty years of experience putting nouns and verbs together so they make sense. Plus he also has a kid who is in the process of destroying his house.

Together they've brainwashed Northwest kids into caring for the environment through the animated PSA TV adventures of a fish named Burt the Salmon, done some award-winning work for the Point Defiance Zoo, Pacific Science Center, Seattle International Film festival, and won some coveted awards in broadcast television, multimedia, radio and print (including a Cannes Silver Lion, Emmys, Gold Pencils, Communication Arts Awards, multiple ADDYS, Tellys, Summit Awards, The New York Festivals World Medal, Clios, The Communicator Crystal Award, a Gold Ex Award, a Soundie, and a women's bowling trophy they found in the garbage).
