THE OTHER BOY by M. G. Hennessey I loved it! Lessons in respect, diversity, being yourself, and standing up for each other. A good work of fiction teaches lessons without feeling like a lecture. I found an education here, in understanding and in how to help provide support in navigating the minefields of life, and “err on the side of love, understanding, and compassion.” "Don't let the haters get you down.” “People are afraid of what they don’t understand, and we’re not exactly common.” Dementors in real life: “I’d never felt this way before, like all the color had been sucked from the world.” Hope: Even though the shades are still drawn, it was like everything suddenly flooded with light. There’s an impressive bibliography, which besides providing avenues for further study, helps, as I used to tell students, add weight and credibility to the reality behind this story.
