About the Author

Laura Beutler grew up on the New Jersey shore. She has degrees from Loyola College in Maryland and the University of Baltimore. Laura served several years as a caregiver to her late mother, who died of breast cancer, and her late husband, who died of ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, aka Lou Gehrig's Disease). Having also lost her father to heart failure as a teenager, she frequently writes about grief and it's impact on her life. These experiences have also been the foundation for her brand, The Persistent Optimist (TM). Laura enjoys reading, concerts, theatre, and travelling with her two teenage daughters. They reside in the suburbs of Baltimore with their dogs, a St. Bernard named Dolly Parton and a beagle named Kenny Rogers.
