I was blessed to receive an early copy of Jon's latest book. And he delivered once again! The Power of a Positive Team needs to be added to your library if you want to create a positive team at home, work or on the field!

Once again, Jon Gordon has written a wonderful and accessible book which will be invaluable for teams and those who lead them to make great teams great. Jon has a wonderful way of mixing stories of teams, businesses, and organizations to demonstrate his methods for how to move a team into a positive mindset and set of behaviors. I highly recommend this book for teams and for leaders who aim to have their teams be even more positive and successful. I plan to share this book with leaders I work with in my profession, and have it be a springboard to transform us into an even better and more effective team.

I was fortunate to receive a pre-launch copy of The Power of a Positive Team. Jon places a number of examples of the traits that positive teams exhibit. He also sets the book up to be used by teams as a "self-study" or guide to becoming a positive team. A couple of my favorite quotes from this book are: 1. "Positive teams confront the reality of challenging situations and work together to overcome them." 2. "It’s a purpose beyond oneself that truly drives and energizes people and teams." 3. "Don’t run from the difficult conversation. Don’t be scared of feedback. It is not meant to define you. It’s meant to help refine you so you can do your job better for your team." If you lead a team at school, sports, business, or simply your family at home, this book is for you.

Many people have difficulty using the “C” word. No, I’m not talking about cancer. Many leaders feel they cannot change the circumstances they are facing, but author Jon Gordon disagrees with them. The “C” word he uses in The Power of a Positive Team is Culture! As a leader you have the power to help change a team’s culture. Don’t leave culture to chance, make a difference. Make a real difference. Do you know what energy vampires are? As a leader, how do you handle the in your culture now? Jon gives great examples throughout his book on how to make a positive difference in your team.
