Purpose: The purpose is to provide a reference to family practitioners, emergency room physicians, residents, and medical students.
Audience: Emergency room physicians, general practitioners, coaches, and trainers for sport programs would be the best audience.
Features: The book starts with a chapter on the anatomy around the knee before addressing mechanisms of injury, clinical presentation with excellent quality illustrations and photos, and the physical examination. It then addresses injuries to various ligaments and meniscus problems, all with good art work.
Assessment: This small book on knee injuries provides helpful information to physicians in general practice who are involved in treating patients with sport injuries and to coaches and trainers who are the responders and first to see these patients. For more detailed information on these topics, many references are available.
