Each time Dan Walsh writes a book, I think, "That's it. This is his best book ever." Then he writes a new book. And I say it again. So here I go - "The Reunion is his best book ever." I'm prepared to amend that statement when his next novel is released. The characters are believable and deeply drawn. I especially loved how Aaron demonstrates that a battlefield is not a requirement for a heroic life. The romance is sweet but realistic. And the ending - get out the tissues! I used several, and I rarely cry when reading novels. I highly recommend this novel.

Excellent story with warmth, heart, and characters that inspired this reader. I learned a lot about the Vietnam War. In the process, I was once again made aware of the debt of gratitude we owe to our veterans. Well done, Dan!

This book was great and very hard to put down. This book is a wonderful tribute to those who served in Vietnam. My Uncle served there for 2 tours. Thank you to the Author for writing this book as well as his other ones. I am always on the lookout for his latest work!

Dan Walsh pulls you into the lives of the people of Bentley's Trailer Park and keeps you engaged by entwining other characters through an unassuming handy man, Aaron Miller. Loved how the story honors the many veterans who lead unassuming lives who deserve our eternal thanks for all they've given.

Emotional and heartbreaking at times, The Reunion is the story of a Vietnam veteran and how he feels like he’s nothing special. Due to some choices made in his earlier years, Aaron has not seen his kids in decades. As the maintenance man at a Florida trailer park, he pretty much keeps to himself but helps others and reaches out to them without ever realizing how much difference he truly makes. Dave is a journalist on a mission to write a book on Vietnam war heroes when he finds himself commissioned by a veteran to find a recipient of the Medal of Honor. As he begins his search, he meets Karen, whose dad fought in Vietnam. The way this story plays out is beautiful, and I hope you’ll give it a try. Dan Walsh did a fabulous job of weaving this somewhat complex story so beautifully. His characters feel like real people, with real emotions and real problems. As I listened on Audible, Dick Hill was a great choice for this audio book. I’m always a little hesitant when a male reader records a book that has female characters, but he did an excellent job and I really enjoyed it. I would classify this book as a southern meal. Maybe mashed potatoes, fried chicken, biscuits, and green beans. Something that reaches your soul.

First of Dan Walsh's books I've read. Kept me interested from beginning to end. Each of the characters were people you could know or relate to. Aaron's journey from beginning to end was so emotional; he never put himself before anyone else and deserved everything he received at the end. Highly recommend this book.

I loved this book! Although the first dozen pages were a little slow, after that point the story got much better. By the middle I was hooked. To me, great books not only have a good story line but they also draw the characters well and make them seem real. A wonderful, not to be missed story of redemption and seconds chances.

A bit much on the mention of church, but it is after all a christian book. The story was good and the writing was well done. Even though the mention of church to me was a bit much it did not have a stilted, preaching sound to it like so many christian books do. Although I thought the characters were good I felt they could have been more rounded out, had more depth to them. All in all I enjoyed this book very much.

Being a college student during the Vietnam War, I relished reading The Reunion by Dan Walsh, a realistic account of one fictitious veteran's life following the war. Not only is it an award winning book, but it is just FABULOUS!!! You've got to read it if you haven't already. Very little of it is actually about the war itself, but most of it is about this veteran's relationships after the war. It's inspiring and uplifting!!!

Any one who served in our Armed Forces is a VET. This story brings into focus the problems that some Veterans face when returning home.

Even though this is a work of fiction, the characters were believeable. It is a great story of redemption. It has a strong Christian message of God's ability to salvage broken people.

This is another great book by Dan Walsh. The characters are believable and the book sensitively tells the story of a Vietnam vet.
