Overview

Detective Paige Marshal is about to learn that her black and white world, is anything but. Lurking in the shadows, waiting to strike, lurks an evil which threatens to destroy our world. Creatures, long thought fictional, are real. And Paige Marshal is about to be plunged into the world of eternal night; the world of vampires.
Paige has to decide her fate. In a race against time, Paige discovers that the vivid dreams she has had most of her adult life, are far more than that. Her dreams are now becoming visions; clues to the evil that is about to strike.
First and foremost, she is a cop; a good detective. As Paige follows all leads in her case of a stolen painting 'The Nightmare', she soon discovers that there is a lot more going on than just a heist. Her case will take her to foreign shores where she is thrown into the centre of an age-long battle; a battle which will tear her world apart.
She can't fight this battle alone. She will need all the help she can get. This help will come in the form of a strong and lethal predator; a man who gave up on love over 300 years ago; a vampire. Can this man who was once a mighty soldier, finally unleash the chains which bind his heart? Can he trust himself to love again?
Together they must protect the human world from a well hidden and very powerful vampire. Created some 900 years ago, this tyrannical monster has been waiting to raise his Army of Darkness. The time has come; his reign is coming, and only a human detective can save us.

About the Author

Well, I have loved reading my whole life. I have a wild and vivid imagination. I love all things historical, paranormal/supernatural - creepier the better. Of course I love the folklore which surrounds vampirism - yes I know they are not real, but let's face it, reality can be over-rated! lol

About 4.5yrs ago I was at loose ends. One job ended and I had to decide what I wanted to do with my life. I took some time off and did nothing, which bored me. Then, out of nowhere this crazy thought entered my head - write a book! So after a few days wrestling with this thought I sat down at my laptop and started. After about 10 chapters, I decided I didn't like the plot (had nothing to do with vamps). Feeling a little discouraged, I picked up my JR Ward Brotherhood novel and finished it. That's when it hit me; I need to write a vampire novel and have supernatural creatures in it!! And that's exactly what I did.

Once I started I couldn't stop. My mind just kept seeing scenes acted out and I wrote what I saw. I swear I could have written about three books straight, but I had to stop somewhere, right? This book contains two volumes, not because I wanted two, rather I couldn't find a suitable halfway point to split the story. It is quite a large book, so I made it into volumes I & II, roughly halfway through.

Like all first time writers, apart from writing, I didn't have a clue what I was doing. When a good friend proofread it and started pointing out all my mistakes(mainly with the dreaded tenses and grammar) I was ready to throw in the towel - but I persisted!! It is fair to say that I have had a huge learning curve and whilst difficult at times, I have enjoyed the challenge.

My next big challenge, and boy do I mean challenge, is publishing and marketing! I will need a few bottles of wine for this task. Deciding who to go through for eBook conversion was my first decision, the second being, do I use CreateSpace/Amazon or IngramSpark for paperback? I must say that the team at www.BookBaby.com (eBook conversion) have been very helpful.

The paperback will be available through Amazon/kindle and then later I will be adding IngramSpark as they have a wider distribution list.

There you have it - me! In my spare time when i'm not attached to this PC i walk my dog Bronte (JRT) and I love travelling and photography, being with friends and making new ones. I hope you enjoy the book and drop me a line anytime :-)
