5 Stars! The Rouge King by Abigail Owen Fantastic story brought to life by great characters and awesome creatures. It is a wickedly fun and exciting story filled to the brim with bada** hunky dominate male dragon and wolf shifters and take no crap heroines! The story is well written and has great world building, strong witty characters, great plots, twist and turns that keeps a reader rooted. I’ve never been a big fan of shifter novels so this was a welcome and pleasant surprise! This author is new to me and I’m a instant fan! I’m looking forward to the next story in this series. Note: This tantalizing story is adult rated with strong language and very steamy sex scenes. Happy Reading!

OMG! This one was so good!  Hot, passionate, intense, action packed, and a great plot to boot. Loved every second of it. So want more and can’t wait for more in the series. Brand and Kasia are great together, they are strong and carry the story from start to finish with no weak or slow areas. The obstacles they face seem insurmountable, which add to the intense-ness of the story. I don’t want to give much away concerning the plot and who the bad guys are or anything. I went utterly blind into this one, never read a book by Abigail Owen before, so I didn’t know what to expect and it was fresh and exciting. Right up there with Donna Grant, and that is saying something in my book!  Loved it and want more.

This is the start to a new series In this first book we meet Kasia Amon she is one of a set of quadruplets whose mother the last phoenix on earth gave her powers to her four daughters before she was killed by Pytheios of the Red Clan Dragon Shifters. The dragons are divided into four clans Red, Blue White and Gold and each king must marry a phoenix to gain his true powers Kasia has come to the attention of the dragons as she is starting to lose control of her powers, Ladon King of the Blue Clan employs Brand Astarot a rogue dragon ho belongs to no clan (he should be a king) to track Kasia down and bring her to him so they can mate. Only problem is that when he tracks her down she is his mate will he be able to hand her over to Ladon or will his own dragon mark her and claim her Looks like the next story will be Kasia 's sister Skylar but who will be her mate I think I have a good idea after that epilogue

I loved The Rogue King! I read the Fire's Edge Series and loved it. I think The Rogue King, the first book in the Inferno Rising Series is the best so far. I have really fallen in love with these Dragon shifters and their mates. Brand and Kasia are my favorites so far. This book has lots of action and plenty of romance. I can't wait to read the next book in this series. I give The Rogue King 5 stars for its great read. I would recommend this book to Paranormal Romance Fans. #TheRogueKing #NetGalley

This is a fun read. It’s an interesting take on the Phoenix myth. I liked that the female lead needs help, not just rescuing. She may not be able to defeat the villains herself, but she’s no damsel. I also liked that it’s not just one bad guy, but basically an institution or false government that needs to be taken down. So as the series continues it’s not just about one villain, but a system to be dismantled. There was no instalove, and although they did fall for each other quickly the attraction built. It also was tenuous because it was driven as much by hormones as personality. So while you knew a HEA was coming, things going sideways was a real possibility too. I enjoyed the world building and all of the creatures. Aside from the dragons, there are some other beings I would love to get their own books. This series could go on for a while without fear of getting stale. I can’t wait for the next book.

Her mother died so she may live free, but always on the run. Kasia is a Phoenix, a prize that brings great power and immortality to whomever finds and mates with her. She is also one of the greatest prizes a dragon king could ever possess and one hunter is hot on her tale, a rogue dragon with his own agenda and his own secrets. Brand has a job to do, a mission to complete and his reward was once all he ever wanted, to belong to a dragon clan, something taken from him when his parents died. He never expected the fiery Kasia to be anything more than part of the deal, but his heart and his dragon beg to differ. Can he turn her over to a dragon king and walk away, knowing he will be one step closer to getting the revenge he seeks against the vile Blood King or should he go for the “gold” and claim her for himself, taking back his true birthright? Can you say, hot, hot, hot? Imagine the chemistry between a dragon and a phoenix! If you thought of burning passion, you nailed it! THE ROGUE KING by Abigail Owen is filled with danger, adventure and the embers of a raging inferno about to ignite as one woman in hiding proves that even the hunter can be captured by the game! Wonderful storytelling by Abigail Owen, fast and furious action, and that powerful thing called love! A strong start to a new paranormal series! I received a complimentary ARC edition from Entangled Amara!

5/5 stars 'The Rogue King' is the most delicious, beautifully built, action packed, sexy shifter romance I have ever read. I'm in love with this new paranormal romance series and I need more from this series now! Synopsis Kasia has been running and hiding her whole life from dragon shifters. Dragons that believe possessing a phoenix will proclaim them High King over all the dragon clans. Then an unlucky run in with a rogue dragon, Brand, drags Kasia back into the world she's been running from. Brand has secrets of his own and only delivering the phoenix to the Blue Dragon King can ensure that he achieves his revenge. But what is revenge compared to love? Pacing & Points of View I read this story in a day. It was so good I just couldn't put it down. The world building, depth to the character's backgrounds, and variety of shifters made this story feel different than any other paranormal romance story I have read lately. The story itself flowed very easily overall and never dragged from Kasia and Brand's points of view. Characters I loved the chemistry between Kasia and Brand. There was definite insta-attraction, but not instalove. The author took her time to build up the romance and make it worth the wait. I'm very interested to see where this series takes the Blue Dragon King, Ladon and the rest of the phoenixes. Overall Overall, I really loved this story that had a very good mix of paranormal world building and romance. There was no cliffhanger, but this story definitely ended with a sassy, teasing epilogue in another character's perspective. As soon as I finished this story, I pre-ordered it and started digging for everything the author wrote previously. I cannot wait to dive headfirst into the sequel and this beautifully built shifter world again! I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Thank you so much to NetGalley and Entangled Publishing for allowing me the opportunity to read this amazing digital ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I have read many books and never have submitted a review, but this one has earned it. Awesome Read!! Characters are intense, storyline is building to a fever pitch you can't bring yourself to let go of, and you will be on fire to get your hands on the next book in this series. I know I will.

I loved Abigail Owen's Fire's Edge series, so when I was given the opportunity to begin reading another I immediately took advantage. I loved every word of this story. I admit I can't recall ever reading a novel that included a phoenix so that in itself made it all the more interesting. Brand was an enigma, Kasia headstrong and unrelenting. Combine the two and you have a steamy, highly combustible, hard to put down book!

This was an exciting adventure, the world building was excellent. I loved the characters, especially strong and fierce Kasia. A world with sexy Brand, dragon shifters and a phoenix, nothing more to want! I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

The Rogue King is my first book by this author and I loved it. Sexy dragon shifters with attitude and strong female leads create a page turner as the story builds fantastic worlds. Phoenixes are highly sought after and being one of the last ones, Kasia Amon and her sisters have spent their lives hiding. Their mother trained them to be tough and to fear dragons. Brand Astarot's whole life is about revenge. He is a rogue dragon that works as a mercenary and the blue king sends him to retrieve the phoenix. The chemistry between these two is off the charts as they fight fate. Brand is supposed to give her up to the blue king but he wants to hold her for himself. The HEA is hard fought but so much the sweeter for it. I love Kasia's sass and how she gives as good as she takes to cause Brand all kinds of problems. With a dramatic sigh, Brand wins a coveted place on the best book boyfriends of all time list. This series promises to be totally addicting and Ms Owen's becomes a must read author. My voluntary, unbiased review is based upon a review copy from Netgalley.

Excellent story! So exciting, it pulled me in right from the start. Even though, Kasia and Brand share an instant attraction, both of them are completely unaware and fight it each step of the way. The story is non-stop action. The book has everything, I mean who doesn't love shifters. An amazing start to a new series. I'm excited to read the next book and was only disappointed that I have to wait. Definitely a must read!

I enjoyed this exciting read. I found Brand and Kasia's story very interesting. This is book one of a new dragon shifter series. I liked the epic feeling to this book and series. The combination of shifters, myth, adventure, lore, royalty, danger, action, fantasy, romance and political intrigue makes for a very compelling reading. Brand and Kasia made a wonderful pair. Their attraction was intense, their banter was sharp and clever and they generated lots of sparks each time they clashed. Kasia, I felt for her life was filled with so much turmoil and strife. Hunted like a coveted prize, destined to be used as a pawn and seen as the ultimate tool of power; peace, safety and happiness are only a memory. Brand has a painful past and a thirst for revenge. His emotional struggle is acute as his desire for retribution and his desire for Kasia war with each other. A very enjoyable book and entriguing start to the series.

She chose her moment to die…to save her children! It is insta love, which in the dragon world is very acceptable, and Brand has an overwhelming need to help the woman covered in flames. Kasia has seen him in her visions. She has been waiting for him. Everyone wants her…dragons, werewolves, vampires… for their own reasons, but no one will make her do something that isn’t right for her. Brand is a rogue, unclaimed by any dragon clan. Though the theme, dragons and paranormal romance is familiar, the Phoenix is rare and coveted…by me and other lovers of the supernatural world. Even though I know dragon meets girl, falls in love, braves many dangers and lives happy ever after, it’s the bits and pieces that an author like Abigail Owen adds that makes the story special. The world building makes the scenery and action come to life. The characters are easy for me to remember, because the story engulfed me. At times the dialogue is humorous, helping alleviate the feeling of danger that hovers around the characters. Tons of action and never a dull moment. I have read several of Abigail Owen’s series and look forward to each and every story she writes. As expected, she gave me a magical love story and new characters to love in her new Inferno Rising series. I have met two of Kasia’s sisters and I think I know who’s story may be next. I can hardly wait. I voluntarily reviewed a free copy of The Rogue King by Abigail Owen.

This is a voluntary review of an advanced copy. What non-stop action and tension as Brand tries to bring Kasia to his king - for his own advantage. Poor Kasia knows that Phoenix shifters are valued and used so it is hard to trust anyone so it is surprising that she does trust Brand - and probably shouldn't at some points! There are lots of connections between groups and we get to see some previous characters in this book so that is always fun! You just want to dislike Ladon and don't want Kasia to end up mated to him but in the end, I really liked him. And what a teaser when we see Kasia's sister show up at the end! Another great book and just keeps me waiting for the next one!

Because of who – and what – she is, Kasia Amon is a master at hiding. To dragon shifters, she’s a treasure to be taken and claimed and there’s a sexy dragon shifter in town hunting for her and she can’t stop bursting into flames. Turning a phoenix over to the feared Blood King would get Brand Astarot one step closer to the revenge he’s waited centuries for. But when Kasia sparks a white-hot need inside him – he’ll have to make a new plan: claim her for himself and take back his birthright. The ‘Inferno Rising’ series is off to a fabulous start – one that gets the adrenaline pumping, the heart pounding and the passions soaring. The strong, sexy and bold characters are too die for… they have some uber hot chemistry and have sparks flying in every direction throughout their turbulent relationship. They both are very stubborn and are quite perfect for each other as they continuously overlook what right in front of their hearts while juggling everything that life is throwing at them which has some pretty heavy emotional turmoil flowing from the pages as well. The plot is fast paced, extremely engaging and suspenseful, guaranteeing that readers can’t put this book down as Brand takes steps to secure his path of revenge. But with enemies dogging their every step, explosive battles and the passion continuously building between them, Brand has to entertain some new, radical ideas if he wants to claim Kasia. The author has also introduced more elements to her world which promises more exciting possibilities are in store for this series while some stunning ‘OH MY’ moments and unexpected twists keeps the adrenaline pumping throughout this energetic, exhilarating and satisfying dragon shifter story.

The Rogue King, book 1 in the new Inferno Rising series by Abigail Owen is set in her Fire's Edge world, so if you've read The Mate, The Boss, or The Rookie then you've already got a good grasp of the world and some of the politics and habits of the people contained within. If you haven't, however, you will not be left behind. Though we meet and hear of some of the characters from those books, you won't be at a loss in the least. The summary from Mrs. Owen is perfect and leads the reader to the true tone of the book. This is nice, because not all summaries manage that. Our main characters, Kasia and Brand, are both essentially outcasts that will come to find they have a common enemy. In this world, Phoenixes historically end up the destined mate of a dragon, with the relationship being mutually beneficial in that the dragon offers protection while the phoenix offers luck and an extended life span. Because of a power hungry dragon shifter, the entire world was thrown into a bit of chaos. Kasia and her sisters were raised to fear dragon shifters and avoid them at all costs. During the same time period, Brand lost his entire family and became a rogue dragon; which pretty much means he's hunted by his own kind and has spent his life fighting. Both have a past that makes my heart hurt for them, but also makes me root for them even harder. Brand is friends with the Blue Dragon King, Ladon, who wants the phoenix for her legendary 'ability' to make her mate the High King of all dragons. As he is currently the only dragon king standing against their current high king and his pawn kings, this is important. Most of the book is Brand and Kasia's journey from Montana to Scotland. Along the way, we get to know the two of them as they get to know one another. We also, as readers, get to learn more about the political maneuverings of the dragons and what's been going on for the past 500 years or so. The world Mrs. Owen designed is detailed and quite lush. It's full of interesting people as well as species both common and uncommon (shifters, vampires, spirits, hellhounds, etc). The perspective changes mostly between Kasia and Brand, but occasionally branches out to other important characters giving us inside views of the happenings outside our current focus. This helps to engender greater love or hatred for other characters, which I believe is a beautiful setup for the future of the series. I definitely look forward to the next books in the series. This is most definitely a fantasy and also quite clearly a romance. There are steamy scenes as well as profanity and bloodshed present in the book. If you like shifters, paranormal creatures of various types, romance, action, and a dollop of world shaking political restructuring, this is a book you really shouldn't miss. Please note that I received an ARC from the publisher through Netgalley. All opinions are my own.

This is book 1 in the Inferno Rising series. It's about Brand Astarot and Kasia Amon. Brand is a rogue who has been sent to find the one being who is basically a one way ticket to the high throne. Delivering her to the Blood King will earn him a place in the clan and move him one step closer to giving him his chance at retribution. Kasia has been in hiding her whole life and is just trying to not only survive but to try to stay out of the hands of the dragons. What she never expects is for her kidnapper/protector to become someone that she comes to care about. But can he truly be trusted? This is the first book I have read by this author and it definitely won't be the last one! I absolutely loved it! Kasia has this perfect attitude and I absolutely loved everything about her!! Even with everything that has happened since before her birth, she still manages to find things to make herself somewhat happy. Brand has been through absolute hell and still hasn't learned to let go of his need for revenge. However, he is finally learning that there are more important things than revenge. And reading about his struggles just makes you love him even more. I can't wait for the next book in this series and it is a definite must read for me!

This was an entertaining, well-written book. Kasia is always in hiding and is hunted by everyone in the supernatural world. Brand has spent his life hiding his true identity. Bringing the phoenix to the Blood King will move him a step closer to the revenge he wants above everything else. There's something between the two of them they don't expect, though, and it pulls them toward each other. I enjoyed this book and would read other books by this author.

Kasia is the daughter of a Phoenix and a Dragon King. Her mother raised Kasia and her three sisters to fear dragons, after the Red Dragon King killed her mate. Running away and hiding, no one knows about her four daughters, until the Red Dragon King finds her and kills her in front of the four sisters. With her last bit of magic, her mother teleports the four sisters to different areas to keep them safe. But now the Red Dragon King knows there are more possible Phoenixes and he wants one, and he isn’t the only one hunting for a Phoenix. Brand was the son of the Gold Dragon King and saw another dragon kill his entire family. Now Brand is a rogue dragon and he is seeking revenge for the deaths of his family. Getting the Phoenix to the Blue Dragon King is key to getting his revenge. There were so many wonderful characters, and some truly evil ones as well. I enjoyed the world building and the interactions of the secondary characters. Kasia was funny, although not intentionally so. Brand was a true hero. I’m looking forward to the next book in this series, she does have three sisters and I’m hoping they each get their own book. This is a new author to me, but I am hooked on these characters and the world they live in. I mean, a phoenix! Also, dragons, werewolves, vampires, and a wide variety of supernatural beings. I received an ARC from Netgalley and this is my honest review.
