The Secret Keeper: Perfect the Way You Are is the first book in a children's book series focused on hard topics for parents to discuss with their children. The book is about a young girl named Juliana who on the way to school is bullied about her hair being different. She goes to school and returns home keeping in her feelings. Her mother reminds her about the Secret Keeper who comes at night and gives her advice. Her mother turns into The Secret Keeper superhero after bedtime prayer and gives her advice. The next day Juliana has confidence and is able to stand up for her self.

About the Author

Author Maria Wills is a woman of many talents. Born in Washington, DC and raised in Prince Georges County, MD, Maria started her career at the young age of fifteen as a model and actress. She went to Drexel University for Music. Maria moved to Atlanta, GA to expand her brand in 2006. She is a radio, TV, and event host currently on Girl Power Hour Radio Show broadcasting on WAEC LOVE860 Atlanta.

Maria Wills had her first child in 2012, Juliana Leonard. She came up with the idea to call herself the secret keeper to make her daughter comfortable talking to her about uncomfortable topics. Sharing the idea with friends, it was suggested that she write a book. In 2017, Maria wrote the first book of her children's book series, The Secret Keeper: Perfect the Way You Are. The purpose of the series is to spark dialogue between parents and children about uncomfortable but important topic.

With a strong desire to empower others and give back to the community, Maria Wills is a member of the empowerment team for the charity These 5 Girls, Inc., speaking and mentoring to women ages 14 years old and up. She is also the Brand Ambassador for BrownGirl Village, touring the world to teach leadership, etiquette, entrepreneurship, and self-esteem to brown girls.
