About the Author

"Master" Nicholas Mokashi "Greygray" is a mystic with calloused hands, a writer who finds the sacred in the ridiculous, and a relentless asker of questions. By day, he works with ice, knives, and seafood at a grocery store; by night (and in every stolen moment in between), he chases meaning through writing, painting, and exploring the unseen patterns of ordinary life.

The Secret Wisdom of Backscratchers is his first and only book at the writing of this in September of 2025, and he is working on many different creative projects. Still, he is also writing a three-part memoir series named Blue Collar Mystic, as well as another book called Greygray's Gutter Spells: Commands to Speak into Power, and several other books that will inevitably take time. In addition to writing, he recently designed/created The Greygray Tarot Card Deck. He also paints, with a website devoted to his work at MokashiArt.com, and is the creator of Art that blends grit, humor, and spirituality. His work is grounded in the belief that enlightenment doesn’t always arrive on mountaintops, or in monasteries; sometimes it shows up in the breakroom, on the clock, or in the middle of a back itch you can’t quite reach.

When he isn’t writing, Nicholas can be found experimenting with tarot, creating meditation rituals (calling them "spells"), or finding humor in life’s hardest lessons. He lives for laughter, hidden meanings, and the small miracles tucked inside everyday moments.
