About the Author

Rick Birk is a former high-school and college athlete who has had a lifelong love of sports. Earning his Masters Degree in Sports Management in 1990, he has coached for more than twenty-five years at the grade-school, high-school,and college levels. In addition, he has more than thirty years of financial-management experience in various capacities (COO,treasurer, controller), including many years in the sports industry.

Rick resides with his wife Terry in Scottsdale, Arizona, where he writes and pursues sports the year around. He is deeply committed to the values that define the integrity of sports and is a strong advocate of family values. His other books include The Best All Around, Love Must Mean Something, Go-5, and Footprints of a Shadow.
