Donald G. Wood is a retired investment banker who found his true passion in science, blending his love for science, technology, and the mysteries of the cosmos. From childhood moments in Tifton, GA, where he marveled at the unknown, to his early days using ham radios and email to communicate with the future, his journey into science fiction was inevitable. In the 1970s, while his uncle was working on the Saturn 5A booster in New Orleans before being transferred to Cape Canaveral, he was introduced to ham radios. His uncle had a large ham radio system that nearly filled his car's trunk, powered by a 12-volt battery and an inverter from Radio Shack. His uncle had also upgraded his car's electrical system from 6 volts to 12 volts, demonstrating his scientific curiosity. Through this setup, his uncle received emails from Boeing's main office in Seattle and NASA's Houston control center in 1964—well before ARPA or DARPA delved into email technology. This early exposure to advanced technology and communication sparked Don's lifelong passion for science and technology. In his debut book, he takes readers on a humorous, thought-provoking exploration of the universe, showing that while science fiction might not be fiction at all, we're just not there yet.
