A thief is on the loose! Some call it "The Sweet Tooth Thief"
because of all the missing cookies, pies, and cakes. The town of Kickapoo is on guard, but it seems to do little good.
The police are stumped.
The worst part is that it's only a few days to the annual Kickapoo Kake Bake, when prizes for the biggest and best cake and the most delicious pies and cookies are awarded. But the stealing goes on; a whole railroad car packed with cookies gone, a pie delivery truck emptied, and Crum's Bakery cleaned out when Mrs. Crum turns her back for only a moment!

Hank Franzoni, a former trial attorney for fifty years, has taken up writing in retirement, and “The Thing That Ate Kickapoo” is his first venture into the children’s book arena. He was encouraged by his wife Carolyn Bracken, who has illustrated over 300 books in a career spanning several decades. She has worked for most of the top publishing houses, drawing for licenses as well as original works and is currently working on Magic School Bus and Fancy Nancy books.
