The Titus Revolution

As Christians we are faced with big challenges as the influence of Christianity in our culture recedes. Increasingly Christians are being pushed to the margins of society. The question many ask is: what can we do?

Through clear and accessible exposition of Paul's letter to Titus, this book proposes that the most important thing churches and Christians can do is to cultivate godliness. Godliness must be the aim in every time and place the people of God find themselves - no matter what the challenges. Godliness is about far more than activities that we think are religious in the narrow sense of the word. It is empowered by the grace of God in Jesus Christ.

This book looks at how godliness is established through godly ministry (of leaders and church members) and godly leadership in local churches then expressed through the godly lifestyle of Christians and godly citizenship or engagement with the world.

Faced with the big challenges of an increasingly hostile culture, this book will deepen and broaden Christians' understanding of what godliness is, why it matters and how it can be nurtured in local churches so that Christians can live faithfully in the world.

For 36 years Kenneth Brownell was minister of East London Tabernacle Baptist Church. Among other things he has been involved in training pastors in Madagascar and Myanmar with Equipping Pastors Worldwide, teaching church history at the London Seminary and leading walks and tours with Christian Heritage London. Originally from the Unites States, Ken studied at Harvard and St. Andrews.
