The Weekend Flyer: Sixty-Five Years of Weekend Adventures in the Cockpit
"When once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been, and there you will always long to return."
Leonardo DaVinci
About the Book:
The book magically captures the excitement, the thrill, and the self-rewarded feelings as they turn in the cockpit into a passion. It describes the emotions in stressful situations in multiple incidents; as fighter pilots, as pilots flying professionally, or flying for pleasure. The author demonstrates that "those who try flying are forever infected by the experience." To demonstrate perfectly, the author brings his own experience into the pages, as well as live interviews with world achievers in aviation. He artfully describes their actions and emotions in moments that saved their lives.

About the Author

Mike Echo is an aviation enthusiast, writer, and entrepreneur. He has spent much of his adult life building and managing his many successful businesses, while never abandoning his first and abiding passion for the art of flying.
From an early age, Mike spent thousands of hours in 40-or-more different cockpits - adventures which sometimes took him in private planes to far-flung lands and other times to tiny rural airports to meet a fellow pilot for a hamburger. He never refused a flight, expanding his ever-growing repertoire to gliders, General Aviation aircraft, helicopters, and military aircraft. He has participated in soaring contests across the country, visited dozens of air shows and never missed an opportunity to challenge his assumptions or test his aviation bona fides.
Over the years, the author has documented many of his unique flying encounters (and those of other notables in the field); his work has appeared in aviation publications and on television shows in localities around the world.
“Anyone can fly a plane,” he has said, “if he or she is willing to devote the time to learn the art. Once learned, it will yield rewards for a lifetime.”
