About the Author

Shameika "Sha-Ho" Holt was born and raised in La Marque, Texas. She lived there until her graduation from La Marque high school, after which she moved to Houston, Texas. During Shameika's early school years she spent a great deal of her time sketching and drawing. Though her teacher's expressed that Shameika's artwork was good, she did not think much of her drawing skills in the beginning. Due to her learning disability she often had to face teasing and poking from the other children making fun of her. Church and developing a strong spiritual foundation led Shameika to push past the barriers of her disability, as she grew to embrace God's purpose for her. She learned to love herself and understood that she was exactly the way God wanted her to be. She continued her journey as an artist pursuing private tutoring with LaVita Ru and now has published her first children's book, "The Witch's Brew."
