Months have passed since Lord Vener's betrayal at Himerdon. His efforts to save the city failed, but not all of the victims are dead, yet. His love, Rhea, lives, but the magic poison that is slowly killing her has no known cure. With time against him, Vener must return to the empire he betrayed and seek out the hidden ruins of the last kingdom of magic to secure a cure for Rhea's illness. Meanwhile, Emperor Egregious, fresh from victory in the Northern Kingdom, has started the next phase of his plan: his ascension to godhood, and the destruction of the Island of Innocence!
