They Saw The Risen Lord
The first Easter began with a morning earthquake as 2 angels descended and opened the empty Tomb of Jesus. A band of women, who had come to re-bury Jesus, were told by the angels that Jesus had risen from the dead. Mary Magdalene hurried to Peter and John to tell them. The other ladies met Jesus, the risen Lord, as they walked back to town. Later, Mary Magdalene, Peter and 2 disciples walking to Emmaus had conversations with Jesus. That evening, Jesus materialized in the midst of a large group of believers. He showed them that He was Jesus -- in glorified form. He gave each of them the portion of the Holy spirit that made them able to understand how He fulfilled the ancient prophecies in the Bible. Jesus met with other believers in the next 40 days. In Galilee one morning, He fixed breakfast for a group of disciples -- bread and fish. Later He met with Peter and John. He told Peter, "Feed My sheep," 3 times. A few days later, on a nearby mountain, Jesus told a crowd of believers, numbering in the hundreds, "Go into all the world. Preach the Gospel. Baptize believers. Then, teach them even more of My message. Later, back in Judea, Jesus led His Apostles to a site on the "Mount of Olives", bid them farewell, and ascended into Heaven. Some angels said, "One day He will return to this spot." We are not sure that Paul saw Jesus before he was struck blind on the way to Damascus, but surly he did when he was brought up in to Heaven later. And, John saw Jesus in the vision he documented in the last book of the Bible -- Revelation.
