Threads of Devotion: Jan thru June
"Threads of Devotion" provides a daily worshipful verse, and a short insightful summary that teaches Christian fundamentals. Answering questions such as, "Who is God?" "What is the Church?" And what is "Sin, Redemption, and Salvation?" Each month's theme groups Bible verses that collectively answer the questions we all ask. In January, "Who is God" is the first and foremost theme. We must know who God is before we can place our trust and faith in Him. The One God eternally existent in three persons. The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Each divine and equal in essence, eternally One. February studies "What is the Church?" This miraculous assembly that is the chosen bride of Christ. Not a denomination or a building, but a body of believers who put their faith and trust in the resurrected Christ. Our Savior who will return for us soon, resurrecting our bodies to eternal life. March digs into "Sin, Redemption, and Salvation." Uncovering why we are born with a sinful nature. Learning what is sin, and why we are burdened with evil temptations. Then salvation. God's free gift for all who would believe in His Son's death, burial, and resurrection. Redeemed because of His grace. April explores "Ordinary People, Ordinary Lives." Those biblical characters who shaped each of the Bible's 66 books into the scriptures we study. From David and Bathsheba's indiscretion to Paul taking the gospel to the Gentiles. We study 30 people whose lives we choose to follow, or seriously avoid. Learning from all God chose for our own growth as Christians. May delves into "Ordinary Days, Extraordinary Events." Those incidents throughout the Bible from eating the forbidden fruit in the Garden to the spreading of the gospel in the New Testament. Similar to the many events we experience each and every day of our own lives. Because there is nothing new under the sun. June concludes with "Give Us This Day, Our Daily Walk." That is, how do we walk as Christians and do we "walk the talk?" Applying scripture's wisdom to the lives we live today. Learning how to lead a Christian life pleasing to God, far from the ravages of sin. There is no greater privilege than to study, meditate, and ponder daily verses. And as we travel "Along the Way" on a journey together, we will discover the very mind of God. The God who is the Alpha and the Omega. The beginning and the end. Who is more than worthy of our devotion when we are faithfully devoted to Him. Each and every single day.
