Tinkathia

The play 'Tinkathia' is a play inspired by the writings of renowned playwright Dr. Kishore Sinha, which presents a living testimony to the barbarism of the whites in the land of Champaran and the saga written with the blood of innocent farmers, which culminated in the non-violent and historic step of 'Mahatma Gandhi'. Gandhiji first sanctified the land of Champaran with his feet on April 15, 1917 in Motihari, then on April 22 in Hazarimal Dharamshala, Bettiah and on April 27 in Murlibharhwa and Bhitiharwa villages with the efforts of Pt. Rajkumar Shukla. It was Rajkumar Shukla who brought Gandhiji to Champaran to show him the miserable plight of indigo farmers. Mahatma Gandhi knew that one of the main causes of the misery of the people of Champaran was their illiteracy and ignorance and unless they were mentally advanced, their salvation would be impossible by any external force. Mahatma Gandhi and Kasturba worked in the field of education, sanitation, village reforms and raising public consciousness in Champaran. He paid special attention to education and sanitation. Cleanliness and truth-non-violence was an important part of Gandhiji's life. Therefore, Gandhiji's basic mantra is education, cleanliness, truth and non-violence need to be made a major part of today's life. An attempt has been made to reveal this truth through this play.
