"This book is absolute CHAOS.

I mean that in the best way possible... I'm not usually the type to read a midgrade, but there are exceptions, and sometimes life just steers you into places you weren't expecting. This story? It's full of those unexpected moments.

There are laughs, BIG messages, times when you can't help but feel like you must immediately adopt this poor child because she needs to be loved, twists and turns galore. I never once knew what was coming next. I only knew I was in for the ride of a lifetime.

I loved lil DJ. The way her mind works is a glorious thing, even though sometimes it's not quiteeee as glorious. DJ depicts some rarely shown mental conditions (like OCD), on a level that is correct and not just separating Skittles by color. I really appreciated the realism. It was almost too good, as moments had me in panic attacks of my own while I lived through the terrors of sand alongside our lil protag.

This book covers about three years of lil's life and there's a touch of mystery alongside the mayhem. The world is MASSIVE despite it being set in a small town. With, dare I say, over fifty characters, you don't lose sight of anyone's personality, which is kind of a massive deal.

I look forward to the continuation, AND brilliant news is the next seven minus one books are written (just waiting on editing and formatting, if the lil squirrel that tipped me off has more than nuts for brains...). Tomorrow Is Another Day is only the beginning. This is the kind of book that starts inside jokes. This is the kind of book that you bring up again and again. This is the kind of book that you don't just forget.
