Overview

9/11 has produced several stories ... many of which have been about heroes that emerged on that day. In the midwest, two men - one an American and the other an ex-patriot of Saudi Arabia, had no clue that the death of their loved ones as a result of that day's treachery would years later inexorably intertwine both of them at a horse track in southern Kentucky. All Dr. Rob Becker wanted was to fulfill a dream of recreating another 'Secretariat'. His undergrad college posse included a geneticist, a horse trainer and a large animal veterinarian. He had all the ingredients to fulfill his dream. Ahmad (Ben) Slaughter's twin brother, Omid, was with a group of Saudi's buying thoroughbreds in Kentucky on 9/11. He would be murdered a few days later, while returning to Saudi Arabia because of what he had discovered. From that day forward, Rob's tribute horse, Towers Above, and a Saudi horse were destined to do battle on a Kentucky horse track as Ben anxiously executed his revenge plan in two midwestern states.
