Transformation of the Misfit Teacher How Understanding Who You Are Can Lead You to your Purpose: How Understanding Who You Are Can Lead You to your Purpose
Life is a journey that is often traveled without direction. Our lack of direction is the difference between living or simply existing. One of the reasons why people simply exist instead of inhaling life is that we ignore or sometimes overlook our natural gifts; our strengths, our passions. Our school systems have a unique opportunity to play a valuable role in working with students to help them identify and develop their natural strengths; often gifts that could easily lead to a fulfilling and successful career. But too often our schools miss this opportunity in our efforts to extensively focus on the traditional content and heavy assessment of the material we teach. We, therefore, contribute to a society of individuals who struggle to find their "fit" in the world; "their purpose."

I too am a product of extended indecision and disorientation on a path going nowhere. With blurred vision, I chose to take a detour that landed me in a public-school classroom. My intentions for teaching were temporary, since I'd recently earned a degree in business administration. After graduating with my MBA, however, I found myself asking, "What next?" My efforts to find my "next" took me down a new journey of twists and turns that opened my eyes to the unexpected. I knew that something was missing, and in my search for fulfillment, I discovered buried treasures that were far more rewarding than I anticipated.

Life is an evolving world of opportunities for new beginnings. This book is a good read for anyone at any age seeking to find the life you were destined to live. Whether you are just starting your life's journey or approaching retirement; this book is for you!
