Life on the frontier is good for Franz and his older brother Erl. Sure, Erl is annoyingly talented and clever and the neighbors all think he's slightly touched, but he's a good brother just the same. Then one night, Erl tells his brother that he is not who everyone thinks he is, and the greatest evil the world has ever known is coming for him. Then, Erl disappears leaving Franz to face an army of horrors, alone. About the Author

Dave Vandervort is a full time (well, currently unemployed) software developer, part time writer/poet, and long-time bad influence on his grandchildren. From his time working in research he has 12 patents and has written or co-written several conference papers having nothing whatever to do with fiction writing in any way. He has published a few short stories and a few dozen science fiction, fantasy and horror poems. He lives near the frigid shores of Lake Ontario with his wife and two dogs.
