Motherhood is often noisy and rarely silent. Learn to hear God speaking above all the noise in these daily devotions that can be completed in five minutes or less.

As moms know, even when there isn't noise around us, there is usually noise within us. The constant to-do lists that spin in our minds, the worry and wonder if we are doing a good job, and the need to stay two steps ahead of our families when we feel two steps behind keeps our minds routinely restless. So when quiet time with God isn't so quiet, and alone time is nearly nonexistent, how does a modern-day momma tune in the voice of the Lord?

With Truth Unchanging, you don't have to wait until you're alone to talk with Jesus. Designed to be read in five minutes or less, each powerful, hope-filled devotion will:

  *  refocus your heart on the Word of God
  *  refresh your mind with God's Truth for your life
  *  revive your spirit as you realize God is speaking to you personally

Truth Unchanging is not just a devotional. It's an opportunity to begin daily conversations with Jesus, the One who has everything we need to take on the days ahead, the One who wants to speak to you right now. Tune in to His voice today.

I Love Talking to You.
The thing is, whether or not we’ve ever seen that particular picture of Jesus hanging on the wall, many of us picture Jesus with the same quiet demeanor in our hearts. Many of us have been taught to remember that He is always in the room with us, but we don’t usually imagine Him walking around talking to us in that room.

What if He is? What if we’ve forgotten that Jesus was a storyteller who loved to sit around the fire and talk with His friends. What if instead of imagining Him looking upward toward the heavens with perfectly combed hair, we imagined a friend standing in our kitchen while we washed dishes or sitting in the passenger seat while we ran errands? What if instead of calling our best friends or our moms or our mentors, we started a conversation with Jesus in the middle of the day? While it might sound strange, that’s the type of relationship that God intended for us to have when He originally created us.

Let’s go back to the Garden of Eden. God spoke the world into existence. He created everything with His voice, by the power of His word. And then, Scripture says, God had a conversation with Himself. I imagine the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit standing in heaven saying these recorded words, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness.” So He did.

God made man and woman and then placed them in a perfect garden and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.”

Look at what we just read. God designed humanity with the ability to hear His voice and respond to His commands. God created us to be in communication with Him.

So my question is this: Why would we ever dare to believe that the same God who spoke the world into existence, who says in His Word that He “is the same yesterday and today and forever,” suddenly decided to stop talking? We often imagine a conversation with the Lord being very one sided. We speak. He listens. Occasionally, He answers. But the Truth is, God started His conversation with His creation in the garden, and our hearts still crave this type of relationship with Him.

The good news for us is that God still speaks to us today, and as we listen, I believe He is always reminding our hearts, “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them.” I know you. I made you and I love you. I want to lead you, love you, and let you in on the secrets of My heart. This conversation was My idea. You were designed to be in communication with Me. My Word is alive and active. It is living. Read My Word anytime You want to hear My voice, but as you do, listen closely. Because I reveal throughout My Word that I speak to the hearts of My people in many different ways. Let’s talk. I’m free anytime you are.

What kind of relationship would we have with the Lord if we started to have conversations with the living God? What would our mothering look like if we remembered that we had unlimited access to a parent’s greatest resource? God is ready to reveal His Truth; we just need to tune our hearts to His voice.

Lord, thank You for being the God who desires to talk to us. We value Your written Word. Through Your Word, we know what You say and what You sound like when You speak to us. Help us hear Your voice speaking to us throughout the day. Change the images we have of You in our hearts if they are not accurate representations of who You really are. Help us get to know You so personally, God. Give us ears to hear Your Truth. In Jesus’s name we pray. Amen.

Author Becky Thompson continues in her true to life fashion in her latest devotional, Truth Unchanging. Similar to her previous work, Thompson's voice is conversational, concise, and impactful. Each excerpt is meant to be read in short time spans, but the truth is still deep without being "fluff and stuff." What I mean is, the author really hits on Biblical principles that stand the test of time and work to develop true character. This devotional takes you through the expanse of both Old and New Testaments, relating Biblical stories to deep life truths, and then attaching them to the significance of motherhood. Proving once again that the Lord's truths are certainly unchanging across the test of time. I have yet to finish this devotional, but am savoring my reading in it. Ideal for reading along side the Bible, Truth Unchanging serves as a great encouragement and inspiration in the pockets of time during the season of motherhood. *Disclaimer: I received this book free from the publisher. Truth Unchanging by Becky Thompson is a daily-devotional book that is based on a character in the Bible and related to our everyday Mama life. I found myself relating greatly and feeling what she was getting at. I felt a sense of great encouragement from each day’s entry. I was challenged. She helps to identify God’s voice in our lives. I completely agree with her statement that said, “Don’t miss My voice because you’re expecting Me to speak in a certain way. If you focus on Me, you won’t miss a word of what I want you to know.” And “… the more we respond to these promptings, even when we don’t understand them, the more we will train our hearts to listen for God’s loving direction in all situations.” What a truthful, kind, and compassionate writing voice. I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

I love Becky's way of getting her point across to her readers. She uses everyday examples and isn't afraid to be real with her readers that she refers to as friends. Truth Unchanging has been a tremendous blessing to me. Although the book is geared towards moms of young children, I have been able to relate to the devotionals in the book. If you are looking to draw nearer to God no matter what stage of motherhood you are in, then I definitely recommend this book. You will not regret buying this book.

Becky is shares such wisdom in this motherhood journey rooting everyday occurances back into deep theology and inspiring us afresh that God will give us wisdom and insight for our children if we just take the time to listen. He has so much for us and she speaks into the moments where we feel lost and alone and covered in spit and laundry and not sure which way is up, giving us a glimpse into how God sees us and His plan for our lives. This is the sort of book you buy extra copies of for Mum friends. Each devotional is only five minutes but you'll want to wolf down more than one, and come back and savour it again later.

As a mom, I know how busy the days can be. There is laundry to be done, dishes to be washed, and children to be taught. It can be hard to find time to be in the Word. In Truth Unchanging by Becky Thompson, there are short devotionals that can be read in a short time. Each of these devotions contain a story, prayer, and biblical truth to encourage us moms throughout our day. My favorite devotion in the book is titled, “I am”. This is where God speaks to Moses from the burning bush. In this particular devotion, Becky talks about the times when we are not sure that God really called us to something. She talks about how Moses did not feel equipped for what God was calling him to do with leading the Israelites out of Egypt. Becky points out, “The freedom that Moses would bring to the Israelites wasn’t proof of Mose’s abilities. It was proof of God’s faithfulness.” She ties this to motherhood by talking about the children that God gave us. Each of these devotions are sure to be uplifting and encouraging to those who are in the midst of motherhood. This would be a great gift with Mother’s Day just around the corner!

This book was filled with so much wisdom that it was tough not to finish without learning anything. Even if you are not a mother or not a Christian, there will still be a lesson/theme taken away from this book. We are always on the lookout for self-help and books that give advice and of course books that promote positivity and Truth Unchanging did exactly that. What a joy to read! We will definitely consider adding this title to our self-help Non-Fiction section in our library. That is why we give this book 5 stars!

You always hear that motherhood is the greatest thing you will ever do. What no one tells you is that is will also be one of the hardest things you will do. There are the late nights, the anxieties and the noise. All. The. Noise. You get it from everywhere - from people on the street, from social media, from family and friends, from our kids and even from ourselves. Through all this noise, it is incredibly hard to figure out what the truth is and even harder to hold on to it, not to mention believe it day in and day out. If we can’t figure out what the truth is, then how are we supposed to listen and believe God’s truth?! Truth Unchanging is absolutely life changing. Becky Thompson helped to fill a void in the world of motherhood but listening to God and speaking LIFE into moms everywhere. In a simple yet fulfilling devotion-style format, Becky Thompson attacks some of the biggest reasons for noise we face in motherhood, and in every day life. She shows us with examples from the bible what God holds to be true and what we need to believe is true. She ends each section with a short yet powerful prayer to help the reader engage in daily conversation with God. Truth Unchanging is a must read for all moms, whether you have a newborn or school age kids. Being a mom is noisy and we need to be able to hear God and listen to his truth for our lives. I absolutely recommend this book!

Becky has such an amazing gift of hearing from God and helping all of us mommas understand God’s mission for our life. This book is designed perfectly for any mom who doesn’t have a lot of “free time” but wants to do a devotion. Each chapter is short enough to read in the last few minutes of the day before going to bed or on a lunch break. It’s just what my soul needs in the busyness of motherhood.

So thankful for this book. The short 5 minutes devotions that speak to a busy mama’s heart are absolutely perfect! To be able to sit down during a crazy day for just 5 minutes and listen to God speak through these devotionals is just what this mama heart needs. We all lead busy lives, whether we work out of the home, work from home, stay home with your kids, etc. and this is perfect for all of us! We all have 5 minutes, and that’s literally all it takes! Also, the fact that these devotions aren’t numbered or dated, doesn’t make you feel guilty if you miss a day. You can pick right up where you left off without feeling like you need to catch up. And the cover!!!! This book is gorgeous! Probably my favorite cover yet! Once you have read through it would be a perfect coffee table book! It’s gorgeous! Snag this book, you will be glad you did!

Absolutely perfect for busy mommas craving some personal time with Jesus! Each entry takes about 5 minutes to go through, but gives the reader so much to dwell on for the rest of the day. It's like Becky is my best friend speaking truth directly to my heart, right when I need to hear it!

This book is perfect for the busy mom needing a quick dose of God’s Truth! These seventy-five short devotions are packed with Biblical truth that speaks right to a momma’s heart! Becky shares scriptures that relate perfectly to the joys, worries, challenges, and comedic moments of motherhood. Every reading spoke right to my heart and was the exact truth and encouragement I needed to hear. There’s no fluff or “feel good theology,” but honest truth from God’s Word.

I LOVE this devotional! It takes 5 minutes or less to read which is ideal for me being the mom of two littles. I also love that it highlights chapters and stories in the Bible so that I’m actually opening and reading the word. With some devotionals I’ve read, I’m never challenged to actually open my bible. I love that about Truth Unchanging! I’ve been going to church my whole life and I’ve still learned things I never knew thanks to this book. I truly look forward to opening it every single day! Becky has an amazing way of leading you into the presence of God. I love that she writes conversationally and allows the Lord to speak through her in a powerful way! You’ve gotta grab this book for yourself and your girlfriends and fellow mommas!

This is my third Becky Thompson book and I love it just as much as the other two if not more. The devotions in this book are perfect for busy moms, because Becky serves them in bite-sized servings that the reader can enjoy in about 5 minutes a day. Every time I thought I'd read my favorite devotional in the book, I came across another that I thought might be my favorite. As promised, the book provides the opportunity to begin daily conversations with Jesus, and refocuses your heart on the Word of God; refreshes your mind with God's Truth; and revives your spirit. This is a devotional I'll be gifting to experienced moms and new moms, and I'll be turning back to it time and time again myself.

One of my very favorite things about Becky Thompson's writing is that they hold so much truth, grace, hope, and love. Every thing that she writes is so beautifully done in such a way that leaves the reader feeling grounded in the truth that Scripture holds. This 75 day devotional is no different, God has given Becky such a gift in the way that He shows His word to her and she is able to unpack it in a relatable way that encourages and holds the truths of the Bible. I love that the devotions are not numbered and there is no feeling of pressure to "just get through the devotional for today" to stay on track. Each devotion causes you to ponder what God is saying to you and gives you the desire to dig deeper into each passage. I highly recommend this devotion along with the rest of Becky's other books, you won't be disappointed!

Becky Thompson has done it again! Another amazing book by an incredible author. If you have read any of her others, you will not be disappointed. She has a way of writing like she's your friend sitting across from you. She says exactly what you need to hear. This book was written with moms in mind. The devotionals are short, but they definitely pack a punch.

I love this book so much! It’s just the right amount of reading to help encourage you without taking up too much time. Each devotional has truth from God’s word mixed in with a personal story from Becky’s life where she experienced or saw God in action and ends with a prayer. It’s so quick and simple but helps so much to refresh a busy momma’s heart!

This book is AMAZING! If you are looking for a quick devo during this busy season of mommahood, then this is just it! It isn’t a book you have to follow in order (although if you do, it walks through the Bible), but a book you can jump around in. If you have Becky Thompson’s other books, this fits right in with it. If you haven’t read them, now is the time to start with this book! They are quick reads that leave you wanting more, and that more is where the Bible comes in, read the corresponding section and you will gain more! Would make a great gift for a new time momma, or any momma really!

Truth Unchanging is an awesome book because Becky just helps you pause in your busy day and listen for God’s voice in your life. She reminds you that God is right there with you and gives great examples of God speaking to people in the Bible as well. It’s refreshing to read the prayers Becky has written out and also the “words from God”... the lil passage she wrote as if it was a note from God to you the reader.. It’s a refreshing read and reminds us all to shift our focus upward to God. Nothing is impossible with Him. Every mom will enjoy this little gem!

This is a great devotional for moms. Each section is short-great for the busyness of motherhood! She pulls stories from the Bible and shares how we can apply them to motherhood. Each devotional can be read in just a few minutes or you can look up the scriptures and dig deeper if you wanted to. This would make a great gift for any mom in the trenches of motherhood!

This book was wonderful! The devotions were easy to read and quick, which is helpful with two toddlers around me most of the time. Becky has a way with words that helps you to understand God a little better than you did before. Definitely would recommend buying this book! You will not regret it!

Every mamas must have! It’s the perfect daily devotional. In 5 minutes Becky speaks to my heart like a close friend who cares and knows exactly what I’m going through. Do yourself a favor and buy this book! I think this would also make a great baby shower gift or a gift to any mama you know.

I LOVE this book and the words Becky Thompson has been given by God! I haven’t ready many books since having my 2 precious boys, but this book I was able to read. These devotionals only take about 5 minutes to read but they pack so much mom life inspiration and Word of God in just a couple of pages a day! This book is so worth buying and worth the time to read! You won’t be disappointed! Thank you Becky for this amazing book!

These devotionals are created to touch a momma's heart in the midst of the daily life of motherhood: the day with a sink full of dishes, the day with a sick baby, or the day with a joyful celebration of a long awaited milestone. I often pick up Becky's book and feel like God knew just what I needed to hear today!
