About the Author

Michael Marc Jacobson is a really funny guy, just go see him MC one of his shows. Jacobson displays the impeccable comedy timing and pacing of an old pro. Jacobson learned show business from a who's who of 50's, 60's, and 70's performers.

Michael Jacobson is a long time veteran of the live performance industry. He has performed over 2000 shows on guitar with more than 125 Billboard charting artists. He has performed at Presidential Inaugurals, at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, and in Beijing China. He has toured in Europe, Japan, China, and South America.

Now Michael has returned to his first love, story telling. He has spent many years and thousands of miles personally experiencing wonderful stories of the road and the rock & roll world. They say write what you know, rock & roll is what Jacobson knows!

Jacobson's music skills are the rare blend of Long Island garage band experience and a formal music education at Boston's New England Conservatory of Music. He dreamed of being of jazz musician but he was better suited to rock & roll. Michael could not change his musical stripes. He had a fat, soulful rhythm guitar sound, perfect for playing the pop and R & B music of the 50's and 60's. Michael was always much more than just a confident guitarist, and he soon found himself in high demand as a bandleader backing legendary singers and all time great vocal groups.

Jacobson's first professional back-up band was called The "ACES". They were formed to support 'Herb Reed Of The Original Platters And His Group' on their '83 - '87 non-stop North American tour. Literally hundreds of gigs in just a short period of time were Jacobson's education by fire. He would be the bandleader and conductor from the very beginning, even while learning the craft of the stage from old pro Herb Reed. It was an amazing opportunity to meet a career worth of entertainment business contacts and ever more import performers.

By the end of the 1980's Michael Jacobson had performed from one end of North America to the other with The Drifters, The Coasters, The Shirelles and the dynamic Little Anthony & The Original Imperials.
