Uncovering the Notion of "Thing" in Aquinas and in Heidegger
The book focuses on African Philosophy, with specific interest in African Metaphysics, which is the African conception of "Being". The content is woven into four parts to realize the objective of uncovering the notion of "Thing" in Aquinas and Heidegger, towards an Integrated African Metaphysics. The first part verifies the meaning, derivatives, principles, history, and relevance of Metaphysics. The second part investigates the notion of "Thing" from the perspectives of St Thomas Aquinas and of Martin Heidegger. The third undertakes the task of uncovering the Metaphysics of the Ọrọ People, through the semantic analysis and application of the notion of Mkpọ understood as "Thing". The fourth presents African Philosophy, it origin, kinds, forms, trends, and underscores how our study leads to the further development and enhancement of Integrated African Metaphysics (IAM). The highlight of the IAM is the emergence of Vital Force - Ulu, as the Soul of Integrated African Metaphysics (SIAM).
