About the Author

Khadija Craddock, born and raised in Newark, NJ, began writing poetry in the 8th grade when drawing became boring. Although, her twin sister remained an artist, Khadija found an artistry in word play. She first published her work in high school in the poetry society anthology and the East Orange High School literary magazine. She also began performing in high school; her first performance being at the Livingston Mall. She continued writing and performing at William Paterson University. She published in Willy P's literary magazine and their newspaper. She has opened up for a local rap group when ever they would perform, rather it be in New York or when they opened up for Fabulous; she too joined them. After graduating college she took a hiatus for a few years, had two kids, and got engaged. During which time, she became a substitute teacher for Newark public Schools and a group leader for FOCUS after school program teaching kids how to write spoken word, stories, and video production. Currently, she is still a substitute teacher for Newark but now a site supervisor for FOCUS 21st century after program @Cleveland elementary school managing staff and implementing many programs and activities for the youth. She has published two books, one a poetry book "Undone", and a young adult sci-fi novel "Awakened", both available for purchase anywhere digital books are sold.
