EXCERPT 1: It is only natural that God would give to us simple universal principles for living life, which if followed, would lead to peace, fulfillment, and joy. It is only natural that these laws could be found commonly held within the sacred texts of the world's major religions, and that we should embrace these truths and enjoy their supreme, eternal benefits. EXCERPT 2: There is one underlying cause for the sufferings of mankind through the ages--the majority of men and women have suffered from an identity crisis. We have forgotten who we really are. Every world religion says that God is within you and that you have unlimited potential to be fully conscious of God and experience God's unlimited love, wisdom, and power. You are a child of God, a unique spiritual aspect of awareness. You are spirit, temporarily inhabiting a physical form.... EXCERPT 3: God is within us, and has the most intimate relationship with every one of us. We are unique yet at the same time One with God and all of life.... As we practice the twenty-two essential responsibilities in part II, we attune with God and do good works. As we do this, we grow in our Oneness with God, in our spiritual nature, and we transmute what is not of God within us into what is good and divine. There are many levels of attainment both on Earth and in the heavenly realms. In the spiritual world, many souls are on each level, forming a Divine Hierarchy. We have divine potential--to grow into greater attunement and Oneness with God. This is our divine destiny. FROM JOHN 17:21: "That they all may be one; as thou, Father are in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us." FROM AL-HALLAJ: "I saw my Lord with the eye of the Heart. I said: 'Who are you?' He answered: 'You.'" FROM (TANAKH) LEVITICUS 11:44-45: "For I the Lord am your God: You shall sanctify yourselves and be holy, For I am holy....You shall be holy for I am holy." FROM THE BHAGAVAD GITA, CHAPTER 9: "Fix thy mind on Me, devote thyself to Me, sacrifice for Me, surender to Me, make Me the object of thy aspirations, and thou shalt assuredly become one with Me, Who am thine own Self." FROM THE SUTRA OF HUI NENG 1: "For him who...knows his own mind and sees intuitively his own nature, he is a Hero, a Teacher of gods and men, a Buddha." FROM THE TAO TEH CHING, CHAPTER 21: "How do I know the ways of all things at the Beginning? By what is within me." FROM CONFUCIAN ANALECTS 7: "Heaven produced the virtue that is in me."
