Overview

In this Visby the Virtuoso sequel, readers join Visby, a uniquely gifted cat, on a whirlwind cruise from Portugal to Spain, Italy, Greece, Turkey and Israel. Invited once again by Captain Nilsen, Visby performs piano pieces by composers from each country. At several ports of call, local folk musicians and dancers are even showcased.

Visby visits ancient ruins in countries that were once part of the Roman Empire. Today, cats live in these neglected ruins. Moved by the plight of one particular community, Visby is faced with a choice, one that forever changes his destiny.

Author and pianist Liane Alitowski, D.M.A., has performed solo and chamber music recitals throughout the world. She has also delighted seafaring audiences on numerous cruise lines. A former professor at McGill University, she currently lives in Montréal, Canada.
