Wake of Deception

"A vivid dystopian tale with a truly apocalyptic twist." - Kirkus Reviews

"...a high-quality young adult read for dark sci-fi and dystopian fans alike." - Readers' Favorite

"With its exciting, swashbuckling adventures of ordinary heroes and beautifully written and accessible prose, the series will appeal to readers of any age..." - The Prairies Book Review

Extraterrestrial saviors with an agenda of their own. A quiet resistance. A young hero caught in the middle of it all.

Fourteen-year-old Hanu didn't particularly care about the Dissenters' latest sabotage attempt or what the Council was doing to address it. He only wanted to scrape by as quietly as he could while at The Flush. He would pretend to not hear voices, or to have any dreams - especially not strange ones - or to be in any way disturbed.
He would pretend to be cured of what the Ancient Ones say was the last epidemic - the final ripples of mental instability caused by a long history of war, famine and hate. That way he could go back home to his mother and sister in Capital City. But scraping by only works for so long.
Now he must join a group of patients who were summoned into the District of Operations. But with attacks from the Dissenters ever-increasing, the journey to Capital City is dangerous in more ways than one. And when Hanu and his new friends stumble into a quiet war, he must navigate a dangerous path to discover the truth of humanity's destiny, and his place in it.
