Overview

Like many before her that have never come back, she’s made it to the Countess’ castle determined to snuff out the horror… but she could never be prepared for what hides within its turrets, what unfurls under its fluttering flags. Emily Carroll has fashioned a rich gothic horror charged with eroticism that doesn’t just make your skin crawl — it crawls into it.

Originally published by Koyama Press, this beloved Emily Carroll erotic horror comic is back in print with Silver Sprocket, featuring a new foil-accented cover.

What People are Saying About This

From the Publisher

"Emily's comics have an uncanny and hypnotizing effect that we normally know only from our most memorable dreams. She is an artist at ease in her craft, and she creates living things. When I Arrived at the Castle is a pure piece of art." — Steve Wolfhard, author of Cat Rackham

“Emily Carroll’s Castle is paw-curling, fur-raising, back-arching purr-freak-tion. This work is so fangs-out fierce, I’m still tasting blood and second-guessing the skin I am in. A monster talent in the startling arts of genre-bending, trope-shredding, badass body horror. — Karen Walton, Screenwriter (Ginger Snaps, Orphan Black)

Alice in Wonderland meets Dracula! Bloody, sensual and bewitching!” — Coralie Fargeat, Filmmaker (Revenge)

"A beautiful, innovative horror comic. Emily consistently presents us with perfectly cartooned, elegantly constructed characters and environments. Then, just as masterfully, she proceeds to squeeze them, maim them, and burn it all to cinders." — Michael DeForge, Cartoonist (Brat, Sticks Angelica, A Western World)
