About the Author

Kayla was born in Stevens Point, Wisconsin in the spring of 2000. She is the fifth of six children and was raised in a Christian home. Having a passion for music, she grew up learning violin, piano, and guitar and began writing poetry and music at 12 years old. At 18 she started her first blog and began personal training and health coaching and using her writing to promote health and wellness. Kayla has always had a heart for ministry and Gods people. She wrote her first two devotionals in 2020 and knew that she wanted to do ministry and use her God given talents to showcase His love, glory, and truth. In 2022 Kayla shut down her personal training blog and business, and put together her first poetry book; "When It Rains, Grow". This book was written to show her journey from depression and anxiety, to freedom in finding her identity in Christ. It is full of heartbreak, but also inspiration. It is all for the glory of God, and she can't wait to see how the Lord uses her writing for His glory.

This book feels like nostalgia, you can feel the love, pain, and growth in every passage. With many being a healthy weight, there's so much to relate to and to learn from in this collection of thoughts. I really do enjoy reading through these thoughts. Some I feel I really connect with and some actually get me really emotional. I'm proud of you.
