Jake Rose made his way up the beaten path, a path he had traveled many times. He shifted the load he carried, a burlap bag filled with apples. He had always loved apples and with the winter coming on he had spent the previous weeks gathering what the earth had so graciously blessed him with. Jake loved the mountain and everything that dwelled within it. His problem was with the two-legged creatures that seemed to mire the beauty of his surroundings. He had long since determined that they would be the downfall to their existence.
