About the Author

Christopher Hughart was born in Huntington, West Virginia. Having lived much of his life in the state where he was born, he takes much pride in being born and raised there. Growing up, he was an average kid until an unforeseen event changed his world. Going through life and the vast amount of highs and lows, Christopher never gave up because he acknowledged that to bring about deserving light, one must fight through the darkness first. Despite the many struggles life threw his way, he still achieved many life milestones that not all can achieve. So, when life gave him a chance to make a difference, and many scoffed and downplayed his extraordinary potential, he replied, “Why Not Me?” The mere question had engulfed his thought process to make him strive for seemingly unattainable goals. However, this blind man had a vision of warmth and love to help motivate and inspire everyone he could.

From a young age, Christopher knew he would have a story worth telling someday. And so, throughout the years, he had written parts of this tale but knew better than it to be a walk in the park, especially since he knew that his life had not yet truly begun. He knew he had to wait for more of his life to play out to accomplish something monumental.

And so, it did. He had accomplished a lot in life - graduating from High School and Marshall University, trying standup comedy during an amateur night, getting married, having a child, and eventually getting divorced. Despite all this, he still felt like there was much more meant for him to aspire to in this life. As the years flew by, he felt the weight of the world and the lack of opportunity to succeed ever mounting on him, and he found his life seemingly stagnant. But when a mere conversation with a good friend made him realize Why Not Him, life showed him his own bright and amazing true colors. After that, he had been doing nothing but fighting for justice and equity. His only aspiration is to help make this world work for something better, inspire, and give hope to those who feel like they were never given the right cards to deal with – breaking determinism in its rampage and planting a seed to bloom courage and optimism.
