Andrew Harper grew up in a house marked by tragedy. His older brother Owen did his best to shelter him, but you can only be protected from life's pain for so long. Eventually, you end up just feeling numb...and isolated.

Loneliness was the one constant in Andrew's life. Until one girl, met by chance in a high school hallway, changed everything. Emma Burke was a mystery and all that was beautiful in this world, the only air Andrew ever wanted to breathe. She took the lonely away, and filled it with hope and color, and Andrew would do anything to keep her safe, happy and whole.

But sometimes, what feels good and right is what ends up hurting us the most. And when Andrew and Emma are faced with an impossible decision, Andrew is tested to see just how far he's willing to go for the girl who owns his heart.

Cuts are deep.
Scars are left behind.
And revenge beckons.

When Andrew finally gets his chance, in college, five years after his first love broke him completely, he finds out old feelings don't really disappear just because you say you hate someone. The more he tries to avenge all that he believes he lost, the more he uncovers the real story of what happened years before.

Love is wicked. But a restless heart is never satisfied beating on its own. Can Andrew and Emma make it right before it's too late, or will the ties that bind them now destroy their only chance at a future?

This is one of my favorite novels of 2015. Great, emotional story with a HEA and no cliffhanger.

I really liked this book. There is so much more story and angst between Emma and Andrew then there was between Kensi and Owen. As usual to Ginger Scott books, there is a sports theme. Andrew is a hockey player. Not professional, but good enough to be recognized. While Emma and Andrew are in high school they bond over ice skating. There first outing together was at a skating rink and he helped teach Emma how to skate. love that he says, Holding your hand on the ice is the one memory I turned to when my cloud got really dark and heavy and hopeless.” - Andrew Harper Full Review available at http://bookplusheart.weebly.com/contemporary-na/wicked-restless-by-ginger-scott

Heartbreakingly Beautiful The first book in this series, Wild Reckless, is one that I will never forget and totally loved. It is Owen's story, who happens to be the older brother of Andrew. Wicked Reckless is Andrew's story. Each time I read one of Ginger Scott's books I am in awe, because I can't believe that she has yet again written another amazing novel. We originally met Andrew in Wild Reckless, and let me just say I really thought that Owen's story couldn't be topped or even equaled, but Scott has done both with Andrew and Emma's story in Wicked Restless. The story itself is gripping and heartbreakingly beautiful. Another talent of Ginger Scott's is her ability to address very serious issues through fiction in a very in depth and meaningful way, something we see done once again, and done so very well in Wild Reckless. I loved both Andrew and Emma's characters. Their romance was sweet, intense at times while sad at other times, and hot and chemistry filled at times as well. There were some very difficult parts and both of them went through so much. Andrew makes a great sacrifice for Emma, and it was really hard for him to find his way back afterwards. Misunderstanding, jealousy, and hurt fueled actions that words that were not pretty and caused a lot of hurt, but love always finds away to heal every wound, even those left festering for a long time. We get to see Owen and Kensi make an appearance in this book, which was awesome, and you can tell how much these brothers love each other. I couldn't help but think about Owen, when Andrew went though his dark time, remembering how much Owen sacrificed for him, desperate for Andrew to have everything that he thought he couldn't. Wicked Restless can be read as a standalone, but you'll appreciate it so much more if you read Wild Reckless first. That said, Wicked Reckless is one of those stories that stands out.....one you will remember for a long time. Beautifully written, imaginative, romantic, heartbreaking, and eyeopening - Ginger Scott rocks!

I have read every single Ginger Scott book. Her writing is magical. It overwhelms me. It challenges me. But Wicked Restless? It’s on a whole different level. It consumed me. I got lost within the pages. This? It may just be her best one yet. Andrew Harper is a wild one. And so is his heart. When Andrew meets Emma Burke everything shifts. You feel it. They feel it. They are in deep. One night tests their feelings. Choices are made. Consequences are dealt with. Hearts shatter. Years later, underneath the hurt and turmoil, they discover that their hearts still beat for each other. Their souls still tethered. “It's like he was stolen-taken by someone, tortured, and returned half the boy he was-only to grow into a man with holes and broken pieces.” But love is wicked. Andrew is still broken. He has never forgotten the past. How much love crushed him. His spirit damaged because of one night. When chance puts him back in Emma’s life he is overwhelmed. Unsure if his heart can forgive. Andrew pushes the limits. He tries to make Emma feel what he did. He doesn’t understand why, but he is compelled to go through with his plan. Love hurts. Emma knows this. But Andrew doesn’t know Emma is hiding something. Something big. And it played a part in their demise. “You get to come first. I don’t have a choice, Emma, the universe wants you to be my reason for living. I’m a salve to its demand.” You have never read a story like this. You probably never will. Andrew and Emma are no strangers to tragedy. They find solace in each other until they can’t. And even years later, deep down under the darkness and pain, their love still shines through. Andrew’s tragic soul is spoke to me in this story. The author effortlessly places you within his heart. You understand the battle raging inside. You will love him. Deeply. Because his love? It’s the greatest of them all. “If you want me – you have me. Or…more clearly…I’m yours.” The writing is breathtaking. There is something so REAL about the author's words. They are compelling. Powerful. They will consume you. My heart was deeply invested in Andrew and Emma’s story. The author has a true talent of touching your heart with her words. You feel their pain. Their anguish. Conflict. You fall with them as they fall for each other. Andrew and Emma are unlike any characters I have ever met. Ginger pours her heart and soul into her characters and it is felt in the powerfulness of the emotions of this story. "Emma", he breathes, his whisper against my mouth. "So long...I wanted...I waited." "I ...I waited. For you. I...I haven't given this to anyone. I saved it. And I'm pretty sure I was saving it for you." Wicked Restless challenges your beliefs on love. On love that is ceaseless. An enduring love. Their love is selfish. Their love is self-less. Unrelenting. And even those words cannot truly capture the greatness of their love . For their love knows no barriers, it shatters them. Their love simply bears all. Wicked Restless is truly a beautiful and profound story. It goes beyond the second chance. It’s about THE absolute love. The one where your heart beat only knows the one person it can’t beat without. Wicked Restless was a beautiful, touching, and poignant story. It will stay with me forever.

This was one of those books that you will think about for days after finishing. I loved the first book and never thought the second, about the other Harper boy, could live up to it. I was wrong. This one might just be better. Highly recommend. This author has a way of making you feel like you are in the story, living the characters' lives.
