Read an Excerpt

From the Introduction:
High Elevation Mountains & Plateaus: From the San Francisco Peaks and Mogollon Rim to the White Mountains and Sky Islands, Arizona’s realm of 7000’ and above is limited; however, its dispersement is nearly state–wide (except for the southwest). In some ways, the high elevation areas of Arizona are a southern tapering–off of the Rockies. Conifers and Aspen make up much of the trees overhead, while the understory hosts a bevy of sustaining wild edibles, such as Creeping hollygrape, Dayflower, Serviceberry, and Mountain parsley. The majority of the plants described in WEPAZ are found in this zone.
