Phil is a Toronto real estate developer. He and his lawyer buddy Ted, fly off to Florence Italy to negotiate financing for Phil's failing Brookside project. Once in Florence the Italian financier offers to provide the desired financing, provided that Phil and Ted help him find and acquire North American real estate. They are promised millions for their services. Even though they suspect that the financier may be mafia associated, they ultimately accept his offer. Soon enough, the jet-set lifestyle, money, and the sudden new found importance and respect they receive from their peers, becomes too intoxicating to ignore. Ted and Phil have arrived. After some time however they wake up. They can no longer ignore that they are married to the mafia. They try to extradite themselves from this self-inflicted nightmare. But now, they are not only faced with the wrath of the mafia, but also with the threat of prosecution by police forces on three different continents.
