Wired Rogue (Paradise Crime Book 2) is action packed from start to finish. It isn't imperative that you read Wired In (Paradise Crime Book 1) but it would help you to understand the main character Sophie Ang. Sophie is beautiful, sophisticated, intelligent beyond measure, reclusive, and deadly when the need arises. She has issues from her past that keep her always on alert and more aware of people who are in desperate need of rescuing - whether they are willing to admit it or not. Sophie is a serious taskmaster using her cyber skills in her work with the FBI until a case comes along that she feels led to pursue further than the FBI wanted. She joins a private company, Security Solutions, where she uses both her cyber skills and her fighting skills she honed while earning Titles as a MMA Fighter. It's very interesting to see Sophie out from the "safety" of her darkened computer cave and actually interacting with so MANY different types of people-little children, cult followers, cult leaders, her coworkers at Security Solutions, her Mystery Stalker, her FBI friends and ex-boss and her best friends Lei & Marcella who are also in Law Enforcement. As Sophie stares death down face-to-face, we learn a lot more about her and her vulnerability. We see her begin to grow stronger as a woman, a friend, an agent and open herself up to the opportunity of an exciting new relationship. Neal has done another masterful job with this novel. The characters are deep and multidimensional. The plot is one that is absolutely believable in the day and age in which we live. This is an excellent read!" Lisa H.
