Overview

Things are never as they seem.

People tend to judge us according to how "they" think we should be. We can become resentful of them because we do not align with their opinions of us. Who is wrong? Whom does society tend to believe? Who are "they" to be able to identify what we should be? Should their judgment of us change how we view ourselves? It did for me. Be ready to make this real, raw, revealing journey through the life of a former pastor's wife who was searching for peace. Womanly Wisdom is a narrative of the struggles I faced as a woman "known" by society, trying to fit everyone's mold.

It also details the experiences that led me to my lowest point...not wanting to exist...and the people who helped me become the woman who can now confidently provide wise counsel based on my own experiences.

About the Author

Growing up in rural Mississippi, Melanie M. Johnson transitioned from a timid young girl into a blossomed, charismatic, expressive young woman. Melanie's humble upbringing, alongside her diminished self-esteem, positioned her to discount her own value.

It is because of this, Melanie subjected herself to a life of abuse and humiliation. It took decades of this oppression for Melanie to realize that she had to change her mindset and her situation. During this time of transition, Melanie found writing to be her escape from that lifestyle and she has shared her experiences with her readers in a raw, authentic fashion. It is through her experiences that she hopes to make the lives of others better.

Take a moment and join her along her literary journey.
