In “Writing to Wake the Soul: Opening the Sacred Conversation Within” author Karen Hering provides an in-depth understanding of how writing can move us deeper on our spiritual journey. And this is not just any writing but writing using specific techniques as a spiritual practice that is founded on theological understandings. Hering has exercises the reader is to do in order to put into practice what they are reading. The book provides both conceptual understanding and practical ways for the reader to apply and incorporate these understandings. I recommend it for anyone wanting to become more aware of how God is moving in his or her life.
